Shadows and Concealer Stay and Don't Stray

While shopping at Sephora this weekend, I picked up Benefit's new eye primer - Stay Don't Stray.  I've used this for three days, and I must say, I absolutely love it.  I do need to tell you though, I'm not sure this product will work for all skin tones.  It's a very light nude shade that I'm not sure would work for olive or dark skin tones.  On me it works fabulous, but I am very pale.  I usually always put concealer and then my MAC MSF under my eyes, so this helps that stay there all day.   I have noticed a dramatic difference in the staying power of my concealer under my eye area which is the place I need it the most.  Using this as a concealer primer is quite tricky though.  You need to make sure it is completely blended and that you use a concealer that is quite thin...I use the MAC Select Moisture Coverage Concealer under my eye area so it works out great with that.  It also works similar to Powderflage, brightening the eye area to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

As a primer for your eyeshadows, it works quite well. My eyeshadows have been staying on all day, but I much prefer their discontinued F Y Eye as a shadow primer.  Shadows don't blend the same on top of the new primer, but they do stay all day.  All in all, I think this is a great product.  Your eyeshadows stay vibrant and true to color all day.  It also hydrates the eye area to lock in moisture, and fights signs of aging with Vitamins C & E.  It's also free of parabens, which we all try to stay away from.  It really goes on smooth and covers darkness and redness really well.

Just a note about application.  This product comes in a cylinder with a pump dispenser.  Be careful when pumping out your product.  About half a pump is all you need for both eyes.  If you have any remaining, you can use it on areas that you will be applying concealer to keep your concealer on all day.

I had not heard of this Primer before but it wont fit my skin tone. I am like ivory or a little darker than ivory. It sounds like a great buy though.

Have still got a load of FY eye and UDPP to get through from kits etc plus 2 smashbox ones so will be a while before I need anymore but it sounds good and might be tempted to just buy it anyway lol :0) xxxJoolsxxx

I might be tempted to buy this.....a primer specifically for concealer...a great concept compared to just eye primer or a generic face primer. concealer is the thing on my that slides off the quickest so i should for sure think about this! thanks for the review girl!!

I've been dying to try this! I would love to know how it compares to Too Faced Shadow Insurance or Urban Decay's infamous Primer Potion.. have you tried either of those?

sounds like a great product! i have olive skin tone. Maybe i'll get a sample of this. It's great how their form is in a dispenser unlike the urban decay :)

I thought they would bring back the fy eye primer...I thought they were maybe just reformulating it. Now I'm wondering if this is what they are putting out instead. But it sounds like a great product!! I'm definitely going to check it out! Thanks for sharing this review :D

I'm a huge fan of FYeye too...I managed to pick some up on eBay luckily! May give this product a go when I've finished it...or perhaps ask for a sneaky sample!

I went to Sephora and picked this up today without reading the reviews. I've read a lot of bad reviews on MUA and the Sephora website. I'm going to try it out before I make any final judgment. It's good to know you like yours. I hope it works out fine for me too!

I never got to try the F.Y.Eye and I really wish I had now that I hear so much about it. I have light olive skin so this doesn't even sound like it would work for me which I am glad to know before thinking about trying this.

Why can't Benefit just have 2 eye primers!? Ugh.

but i am very happy with urban decay's primer potion so I am good with that.

I saw this at Sephora too and was nervous because of how much product could be wasted due to the pump, but using it as a concealer primer is a good idea!
